Massage therapy isn’t just for relaxation… the positive effects and benefits reach way beyond relaxation. “Advanced Injury Recovery Bodywork / RBR” brings a whole new level for massage therapist and bodyworkers to the table. This technique possesses the potential to: Heal injuries, reduce or eliminate pain and inflammation. Break down scar tissue and calcium build-up, help people avoid surgeries of all types and recover from broken bones. This is achieved by using a variety of bodywork techniques and MicroCurrent therapy. One might say that Advanced...

Temporomandibular joint disorder, otherwise known as TMJ Syndrome, can be very painful. I cannot even imagine going though TMJ surgery. What causes TMJ Syndrome? I have have found in my practice that many cases of T.M.J were caused by grinding or clenching of the teeth. Some cases were caused by accidents that resulted in whiplash or an impact to the jaw. I am 100% in favor of helping my clients to avoid TMJ surgery. The required therapy can be very painful at times, but well worth it. My first TMJ client was trying to avoid surgery and she...

I have been helping people suffering from wrist pain to avoid carpal tunnel surgery since the beginning of my practice. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is caused by repetitive motions, over-use of the hand or an accident resulting in trauma to the wrist. Your job as therapist is to help find the cause and correct the problem. To investigate the cause you want to look at the type of work they do, the sports they play, any hobbies and even bad posture. For example, using a mouse for the computer in the incorrect posture will eventually cause wrist pain...

I have seen more people for lower back problems than I have for any other issues of the body. The lower back can be really tricky if you can not read the signs. What muscle is the cause? When and where did it start? Is it physical, mental or emotional? All of these factors should be addressed in order to correct the back and keep it corrected. The first step in any physical therapy is to assess the body. For example, check to see if the ears, shoulders, hips, knees and ankles are all even. After measuring these areas, check the head… is...

It is amazing how many people I have seen for whiplash in the last 17 years. One of the main complaints I received was how a particular physical therapist caused more pain or helped very little. Now I realize that as in any profession there are well trained, gifted practitioners as well as practitioners who have not been trained well, or who simply choose not to use their gifts. In any case, I often received people in my office who felt they had not been helped by another health professional, whether it was a P.T., Chiropractor or another...

Rotator Cuff surgery is very common, unfortunately, and in many cases unnecessary. I have helped over 95% of clients who were suffering from trauma in this area, to avoid Rotator Cuff surgeries. Please allow me to relate my own experience first. Once, I was playing a doubleheader softball game and in the 2nd inning in the first game, with players on first and second base, a ball was hit towards me out in left field. I grabbed the ball and gunned it to home plate. Right away I felt the worst pain in my right shoulder, shooting down to my...

From the first year of being in practice I have been seeing people with broken bones. My first was a young lady, about 22 years of age, who was a manager of a restaurant and also waited tables at times. She had broken her middle toe due to falling off a curb. Because of the pain of the break of the bone and trauma of the tendon and muscles, she could not work. She had asked me if I could help with this, and even though I had never worked on any broken bones previously, I felt that I could help her. So I started working the area surrounding...

I worked on my first stroke victim in 1997. Here is my story: I was working on one of my bi-weekly clients when he asked me if I thought I may be able to help his father who had a stroke two and a half years ago. He continued to explain that his father had tried physical therapy, doctors and chiropractors and had no success. I answered him yes, I can help him. As my client left I realized I had said ‘yes’ I could help him, but I had never worked on a stroke victim before. I thought about it for a few seconds and realized I was...
